But it was my grandmother—“Nana Ellie”—who truly unlocked my passion. She didn’t just bake; she spoke to her dough. Every swirl of her cinnamon rolls and crackle of her golden crusts held a story. By age 10, I could braid challah, whip the silkiest ganache, and fold buttery croissants that melted hearts (and on occasion, caused friendly rivalries at family brunches!).
